Helmed by experienced art dealers, Ytre-Eide & Martin is an Oslo and London based art advisory with a focus on contemporary art. We operate an advisory and collection management services through which we build our clients collections of significance, importance, and lasting value. 

We also offer services in private sales and brokerage and we work with collectors looking to upgrade or sell works from their collection.

Who We Are

Madeleine Martin, Partner

Madeleine Martin has been deeply engaged in the international art world for more than twenty years as a senior-level gallerist and advisor. Prior to co-founding Ytre-Eide & Martin, she was a London based director of Hauser & Wirth.

Martin's professional career started at Grev Wedels Plass Auction House, experts in Munch, Modern art and 19th century Norwegian painting and sculpture. This was followed by positions at Gagosian and Laura Bartlett Gallery where she was a director for eight years.

Martin has extensive experience advising collections of all sizes and placing upper market works by high-caliber artists such as Louise Bourgeois, Mike Kelley, On Kawara and Ed Ruscha and is highly skilled at upgrading collections to international standards. 

She is a founding member of AWITA (The Association of Women in the Arts) in London and has a degree from Sotheby's Institute of Art.

Esperanza Rosales, Partner

An experienced art dealer and former freelance art critic, Esperanza Rosales has spent over two decades working in the contemporary art world. In addition to co-founding Ytre-Eide & Martin, she is the founding director of VI, VII gallery in Oslo and the co-owner of June Art Fair in Basel, Switzerland. 

Rosales has cultivated relationships with artists, galleries, curators and museum directors around the world whilst living and working in cities like Brussels, London, Rotterdam and New York. Educated at The Cooper Union School of Art, New York and the Slade School of Art, London, she holds a Masters degree in Fine Art from the Piet Zwart Institute for Postgraduate Research in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. 

Rosales is a professional consultant to KORO (Public Art Norway) a branch of Norway’s Ministry of Culture. From 2009-2011 she was the Director of dépendance gallery in Brussels.

Ytre-Eide & Martin are available to build, advise, restructure and grow private and public art collections for corporations and individuals. We support new collectors as well, nurturing interest and guiding decisions with our expert knowledge and long standing relationships within the field. We exhibit discretion and the utmost confidentiality in all our dealings.
